OMG 5.0- 10/09/2026
Client version 5.0 is now required to log in.
Highlights
- Inventory spaces reworked: classes no longer take up bag space, misc items get their own 100-slot space, and potions and other consumables stay in your bag. Classes can no longer be stored in the bank, all banked classes have been moved to the inventory.
- A new bank built for huge collections: one shared search and filter bar for bank and inventory, multi-select with batch deposit, withdraw and swap, and smooth scrolling even with 20,000+ items.
- Redesigned shops, merge shops and enhancing, with clearer requirements, token costs and before/after stat comparisons.
- Mailbox: receive letters and rewards from the AQW Team.
- Live aura tracking with real stack counts and timers for you, your target and your party.
- Full touch support for phones and tablets: joystick, thumb-friendly skill buttons, finger scrolling on every list, a virtual mouse, and a mobile drop tray.
- Gamepad support with customizable buttons, plus rebindable WASD movement.
- Redesigned Keybinds and Advanced Options windows that are easier to read and use.
- Faster logins: server data is now compressed. A typical login downloads about 79% less.
Inventory & Item Spaces
- Classes always appear in your inventory, including classes stored in the bank. They never count toward your bag space and can't be moved into the bank.
- Misc items (Items, Notes, Quest Items and Resources) now have their own separate space of 100 slots, so they don't fill up your bag.
- Consumables (potions, elixirs, tonics, scrolls and food) use regular bag space.
- Your item and misc space counters appear on one line in the inventory, bank, shop and merge shop.
- A full bag no longer stops you from adding to a stack you already own. You can always top up your potions.
- When a merge uses up an entire stack of an ingredient, the slot it frees is counted. A full bag no longer blocks merges that would leave you with the same number of items.
Inventory Window
- A redesigned inventory panel using the game's original tabs, rarity rings and AC artwork.
- The list scrolls smoothly no matter how many items you own. Only the visible rows are drawn.
- Row highlights match the original game: purple for equipped, green for shown cosmetics, blue for selected.
- An Equipped filter in the left icon strip shows only what you're wearing.
- Use Q / E to switch inventory tabs.
- A wider, taller list with more room for item names, and an aligned level column so AC badges line up.
- Houses can be equipped straight from the inventory.
- Buying more bag space from the inventory or bank now returns you to that window instead of the last shop you visited.
Bank
- A wide shared layout: one search bar, filter chips and category row control both your bank and your inventory side by side.
- Filter chips: AC, Gold, Legend, Free and Rare, plus a rarity dropdown.
- Built for huge banks: stays smooth with 20,000+ items. In testing, refreshing a large bank went from 337 ms to 38 ms and used about 16× less memory.
- Multi-select: click to select, Shift+click to select a range.
- Batch deposit, withdraw and swap: a progress screen shows the progress, estimated time left and a Cancel button. Items that can't move are skipped instead of interrupting you with pop-ups.
- House items sit in the bank under Houses, Walls and Floors tabs.
- Category tabs (switch with Q / E) show icons and item counts, e.g. Weapons (12).
- The "Amulets" filter is now Accessories (rings, ground items).
- Searching the bank lists your equipped items first.
- A larger item preview with bigger text and artwork, sized to fit.
- The bank loads once per session instead of every time you open it.
- Red scrollbars with draggable thumbs that page through the list when you click the track.
Shops & Merge Shops
- Shop list redesign with Buy / Sell tabs, the original shop tabs, and clear locked and limited stock indicators. House shops use the new layout too.
- Shops can now sort items, hide items, show locked items as silhouettes, and require a quest before buying.
- Token-cost items: the required token is shown in the preview's Requires section. You're told what's missing before the confirm window, and the buy limit respects how many tokens you have.
- Quantity stepper for buying, selling and merging. A number you type counts even if you don't press Enter.
- Merge shop:
- A Can merge filter and ready checkmarks.
- Requirements shown in green or red, with a hint when a material is sitting in your bank.
- A Missing Materials label. - Tokens shown as a material row.
- Items you already own (in inventory or bank) show a checkmark in shop and merge lists.
- AC purchase confirmations show the full bundle price.
- The familiar merge window layout is kept, with the improvements built in.
Enhancing
- Item-first enhancing: press Enhance in an item's preview to see only the enhancements that fit that slot, with stat changes and a star on the best upgrade.
- A readable stats block: colored enhancement names, one cell each for STR / INT / DEX / WIS / END / LCK, and old → new values in green or red with the total change.
- The Enhance button only appears on items that aren't enhanced yet.
Item Favorites
- Star any item from its preview to mark it as a favorite. Starred items show a badge in lists and sort to the top.
- Favorites filter in the inventory, and a Favorites tab in the bank.
- Favorites can't be sold or discarded until you unstar them.
- Favorites are saved per character on your device, the same way your other settings are.
Mailbox
- A new Mailbox for letters from the AQW Team. An envelope icon sits next to the quest button, with a "You've got mail!" notice when new letters arrive.
- Letters can carry rewards: items, gold, AC, XP, class points and reputation.
- Claiming is all-or-nothing: you either receive every reward in a letter or nothing is taken. If an AC item doesn't fit, it goes to your bank.
- A space check tells you before claiming if your inventory needs room.
- A paged inbox loads letters as you scroll, and a scrollable reward tray handles letters with many rewards.
- Letters show dates and times in server time.
- The mail icon hides along with the rest of the interface when you use Hide UI.
Auras & HUD
- Live aura tracking: your auras, your target's and your party's show real stack counts, countdown timers and descriptions, straight from the server.
- When you enter a room, you see the auras already active on monsters and players. Players who join later appear with their auras too.
- Elixir and tonic auras are visible to everyone in the room.
- Auras clear properly when a monster dies, resets or respawns.
- The countdown ring keeps the correct fill after a map change instead of restarting.
- Hovering an aura group shows a YOU / TARGET / YOUR PARTY caption and a clear, readable tooltip.
- Drag to move the aura displays, the party frame and a new Monster Drops panel. Positions are saved. Reset UI Positions in Options puts them back.
- Removed the rarity glow on quest rewards.
- Boost icons (XP, Gold, Rep, Class Points) now sit in a small tab attached to the bottom of your player panel, centered and lined up side by side. Click the arrow to tuck it away or bring it back with a quick slide (it remembers your choice). It only appears while a boost is active. While it's open, your party frame and aura display move down below it so nothing is covered, and clicking the tab never opens your player menu.
- The mail button now sits on your portrait ring, just left of the quest button.
Mobile & Touch Controls
Turn these on with Options → Mobile Controls: Auto / On / Off. Auto enables them in the mobile app; On works on any device.
- Finger scrolling everywhere: drag and fling through the inventory, bank, shops, merge shop, enhancements, mailbox, quest log and tracker, friends and guild lists, factions, options, keybinds, drops, cell menu and chat.
- Touch-friendly controls throughout:
- Larger tap areas, sized to real-world finger size on each device.
- Bigger close buttons.
- Touch-ready quantity selectors, and an inline quest turn-in stepper instead of a pop-up.
- Joystick (AQ2D-style):
- Invisible until you touch the screen, then appears under your thumb, with a generous touch zone.
- Steering is smooth and slides along walls.
- It keeps working as you move between areas of a map.
- Hold to run: press and hold on open ground, or on your character, to run toward your finger.
- Thumb skill buttons:
- A right-side cluster that mirrors your action bar, using the bar's own artwork and cooldowns.
- Long-press a skill for its tooltip.
- Hold the side handle to collapse the skills; tap it to bring them back. A quick tap shows a "Hold to collapse" reminder.
- Mobile menu:
- Hold the left tab to open it and tap to close. A quick tap shows a "Hold to open" reminder.
- From it: toggle the joystick and skills, move and reset your controls (positions are saved), open the virtual mouse, or hide the controls.
- Virtual mouse: a trackpad window for hovering, clicking, right-clicking, click-and-drag and scrolling. It can be collapsed to a small title bar.
- Drop tray:
- A movable row of your pending drops with skill-sized slots and checkmarks on items you already own.
- Tap a drop for a card with its details.
- The tray jumps to new drops only when you're already at the end and not touching it, so you can clear old drops without the list moving under your finger.
- Loot notifications:
- Every drop pops up on the right side, just above your skill buttons, so you can see what you got at a glance.
- Each shows the item's icon, its name (gold for member items) and the quantity, e.g. x2 Voucher of Nulgath.
- Notifications slide in, stack neatly, and fade out after a few seconds.
- If you get more of the same item while its notification is still showing, the count goes up with a little pop instead of adding a new line.
- They never block taps.
- Turn them off with Mobile Loot Notifications (under Custom Drops UI in Advanced Options).
- Classic Drops on Mobile (off by default, under Custom Drops UI): keeps the original Custom Drops window in mobile mode, without the drop tray or loot notifications.
- Smart HUD:
- The controls fade while a window or NPC dialog is open.
- They stay visible in your house, except while editing it.
- Taps pass through the chat log unless you're chatting.
- Chat on mobile:
- The keyboard stays open while you type, and tapping outside closes it.
- Your character stops moving when the keyboard opens.
- Sound Settings:
- Live volume sliders for each sound channel, with mute per channel or Mute All, and a Defaults button.
- One Sound Settings button in Options.
Controls & Keybinds
- WASD / arrow key movement, fully rebindable. You can also unbind a key.
- Gamepad support:
- The left stick or D-pad moves your character.
- Default layout: attacks and targeting sit on your right hand, and movement, potions and canceling on your left.
- A: Auto Attack
- X / Y / B: Skills 1 / 2 / 3
- RB: Skill 4
- LB: Potion
- RT: Target Random Monster
- LT: Cancel Target
- Start: Options
- Back: Inventory
- Customize your buttons in Options → Advanced Options → Gamepad Controls:
- Tap an action, then press the controller button you want for it. If that button is already in use, the two actions swap.
- Defaults restores the layout above.
- The window shows which controller is connected.
- Fixed: the left stick was inverted on desktop.
- New Keybinds window:
- It opens as its own window over a dimmed screen, like Sound Settings.
- Actions are grouped into Combat, Movement, Interface, Drops, World & Camera, in two easy-to-scan columns.
- Keys show readable names like 1, Esc, `, Num 1 and F5 instead of internal codes. Unbound actions say Not set.
- Search finds any action as you type, and the list scrolls with the mouse wheel, by dragging, or with your finger.
- Click a key, then press the new one. Backspace clears it, and Enter cancels.
- You're warned when a key is already used by another action.
- The key you press while binding no longer also triggers its action in the game.
- Reset All (with a confirmation) restores every default.
- Keybinds keep working after you close an interface, instead of getting stuck on a closed window.
Options
Advanced Options refresh:
- Settings are grouped under Controls, Interface, Chat, Combat, Quests, Drops and Graphics & Performance.
- ON / OFF buttons replace the old arrows: red when on, gray when off.
- Open buttons replace the old "…" buttons.
- Settings that cycle show their current value right on the button, e.g. Mobile Controls: Auto and Max FPS: 24.
- A modern search bar: a rounded box with a magnifier, a placeholder hint, a gold outline while you type, and an × to clear it. Search shows only the groups that have a match, and also finds sub-options (e.g. typing "mobile" finds Custom Drops UI through its mobile options).
- A cleaner scrollbar matching the inventory's: a slim track with a red thumb you can drag, or click the track to jump a page. This replaces the old scroll arrows, which never worked.
- Gamepad Controls sits under Mobile Controls.
- Max FPS setting.
- Hide Players now also hides ground items.
- Reset UI Positions restores the aura, party and Monster Drops windows.
- Mobile Controls (Auto / On / Off).
Performance
- Faster logins: the game now packs the information it sends you, like a zip file. You download about five times less data when logging in, so your character, inventory and quests load faster, especially on slower or mobile connections.
- Smoother with big inventories: the inventory, bank and shop lists stay fast even if you own thousands of items.
- Snappier during busy moments: the game handles crowded maps, fast combat and lots of chat more efficiently, so there's less stutter.
- Smoother walking: moving around maps takes less work for your device.
- Lighter on your device:
- Players you've hidden no longer use up performance in the background.
- Animations load only when they're needed.
- Phones and tablets use graphics settings tuned for them, and the Best quality setting now stays on Best if you choose it.
Android App
- Custom on-screen keyboard:
- Opens with a single tap and doesn't pass your taps through to the game.
- Now has / and - on the main page, with the same bottom row on the symbols page.
- The game interfaces load correctly inside the app.
- The app slows down in the background to save battery.
Bug Fixes
- A full bag blocked adding to potion stacks you already own.
- A full bag blocked merges that use up an entire ingredient stack.
- A full bag blocked buying house items in the merge shop.
- Several icons and buttons drawn incorrectly after an adobe update: the red quest pin, the wiki and camera buttons, the boost icon outline, the options scroll arrow, and the helm on the character page.
- Aura displays leaked after relogging.
- Aura stack numbers could be cut off.
- Monsters could keep showing auras after dying.
- Dragging the party frame could shift it.
- The bank's progress screen could stay stuck after a disconnect.
- Switching bank tabs kept hidden items selected.
- A typed shop quantity was ignored unless you pressed Enter.
- Accepting or declining a drop could leave a duplicate of the same item behind in the Custom Drops list.
- Buying bag space reopened the wrong window.
- Several rare loading crashes and display glitches.
- Server: a quest could get stuck "in progress" after a failed turn-in.
- Server: class changes and some aura removals didn't update for others in the room.
